Nova Scotia

My bucket list includes seeing the tidal change in the Bay of Fundy. This trip gave me a chance to see high tide and low tide and whales. Next time, the focus will be on getting a view of the tidal bore.

Yarmouth was the stepping off point. We drove off of the ferry, cleared customs (such a bother these days) and headed up the coast to meet up with our Bay of Fundy whale watching tour… which meant a crossing on a much smaller ferry.small-car-ferry

Whale watching: something I had long wanted to do, and now I had my chance to be out on open water with nothing between me and a humpback or two but air, water, and maybe the side of the boat!

After getting our tickets, and enjoying lunch at the stand near the dock, we boarded the not-so-large vessel along with about 25 others, and motors out into the Bay of Fundy. This is Nova Scotia — Canada  — folks, so the ambient temperature was a bit cooler than being afloat on the Gulf of Mexico. And, water protection was welcomed. The day was beautiful, and whales had indeed been spotted breeching in the bay. We were off to see them.
