The NovaStar Ferry leaves Portland at about 9pm for an overnight run to Yarmouth, NS. How sweet to stand on the stern and watch the sun set over Portland.
The 10 hour ride from Portland to Yarmouth was nice. We had dinner in Portland with Louise, so we didn’t partake of boat food until breakfast. The cabin was cozy for the 2 of us. It would sleep 4 but that would have to be a very friendly foursome.
The return trip leaves Yarmouth at 10 am or so, arriving in Portland at 7pm, give or take. That was a nice journey as well. Time spent looking off the stern was rewarded with sites of humpback whales swimming and diving. The young man playing guitar and singing in the aft lounge was entertaining (with another whale siting to boot!).
